Peace, Love and Agriculture
August 30–September 2

A mainstay dating to the early 1800s, Woodstock Fair is still going strong. Known for its fine arts and crafts, delicious food and livestock shows, the ticketed fair also features a petting zoo, stage shows and go-kart races throughout the Woodstock Fairgrounds in South Woodstock. Visit the Barnyard Babies Birthing Center to see newborn animals and their mamas.

Grub on the Go
August 31– September 1

Treat your taste buds to a smorgasbord of culinary delights at the fourth annual New England Food Truck Festival at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville. From juicy gourmet burgers to decadent desserts, the ticketed event features more than 30 of Connecticut’s best meals on wheels. Also tap your feet along with the live music, take part in field games, get your face painted, and watch the fireworks display.

Set Sail
September 7

Mystic Seaport Museum and Plimoth Plantation will celebrate the launch of the ship Mayflower II, which has been under restoration in the seaport’s shipyard in Mystic for nearly three years. The public ceremony will feature historian and author Nathaniel Philbrick as everyone watches the famous ship get lowered into the Mystic River.

Join the Celebration
September 21

For the past 15 years, the Celebrate Mansfield Festival in downtown Mansfield has upheld a tradition of presenting incredible music, food and fun—and the 16th annual event continues that tradition. The events kick off with the Celebrate Mansfield Parade rolling through town. Then, check out a wide range of food booths and more than 100 hands-on activities, including martial arts demos and interactive games. The festival brings together Mansfield residents, UConn students, local businesses and organizations to celebrate the community.

Regal Rides
September 22

Are you a fan of classic autos? Do you go crazy for the Ford Model T? If so, get to the Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic for the 22nd Annual By Land & By Sea: Antique Vehicle Show. The show features more than 100 pre-1932 vehicles polished to perfection, including a Grand Parade of Vehicles on the Village Green. Bring your camera and the kids to enjoy a day full of fun, interesting auto histories and free rides.

Culture and Community
October 5–6

Celebrate Native American culture and nature at the ninth annual Hammonassett Festival at the fairgrounds in Guilford. Take in a variety of exhibits, activities and demonstrations, including dances by Native Nations Dance Troupe, musical performances, and arts and crafts.

Chowda Down
October 12–14

Enjoy a steaming bowl of chowder on a crisp day at the Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic during Chowder Days. The menu features a mouthwatering variety of chowders, bisques and clam fritters. Load up on seasonal desserts for a satisfying finish.
